Montenegro is located in the Balkans, on the Adriatic Sea.

• Festivals include music concerts, and events offering free food and drink, often featuring wine and seafood.
• Bokeška Noć (3rd week of August): Masked celebrations at Kotor's fortifications, concluding with the burning of a figure.
• Sea Dance Festival (late July): Large summer music event held at Jaz beach in Budva.
• Days of Wine and Fish in Virpazar: Traditional gathering celebrating wine and fresh fish on Skadar Lake.
• Petrovačka noć (Petrovac): Local tradition and celebration featuring local food, music, and community atmosphere.
• Modest clothing is required when visiting public institutions (short pants are usually prohibited). Dress respectfully at churches and monasteries. When toasting, make eye contact with the person you are toasting, and maintain general decorum in public, especially concerning alcohol consumption. Note that the local spirit, rakija, is quite strong (approximately 53% alcohol content).
