📣 Notas para viajeros
Brazil is a diverse South American country with influences from European, African, Asian, and indigenous cultures. Visitors can expect varied landscapes, including major cities, beaches, the Amazon rainforest, and Iguazu Falls, blending modern and traditional life.
- Major national holidays include New Year's Day, Carnaval, Good Friday, and Tiradentes Day.
- Personal appointments may have flexible local timing (aim for slight lateness), but public transport and official activities maintain strict schedules.
- While racism is illegal, political discussions can be sensitive, and commentary on the government requires care.
- Cheek-kissing is common greetings, though customs vary by location. Handshakes are suitable for formal settings. Brazilians are typically physically affectionate and conversational; initiating conversation is normal. Public displays of affection are generally accepted in urban areas.
Sobre este día festivo
The Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932 was a revolt in São Paulo, Brazil, against Getúlio Vargas' government. The movement arose from local discontent regarding Vargas' rule by decree, which diminished state constitutional autonomy and disrupted the scheduled inauguration of São Paulo's governor, Júlio Prestes.
