Gibraltar (also known as The Rock or Gib) is an overseas British territory located at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. It is bordered by Spain to the north and is near Morocco to the south. Its population was approximately 34,000 in 2020.

• Local people generally do not show animosity toward Spanish tourists or workers.
• The relationship between Gibraltar and Spain has improved significantly, particularly following the 2006 Cordoba Agreement.
• To show respect, refer to local residents as 'Gibraltarian' or 'Llanito.' Though many Gibraltarians speak Spanish, avoid referring to them as Spanish, due to their strong local identity. Be aware that the term 'colony' is sensitive, and respectful acknowledgment of local culture and self-governance is important.
