• Moshoeshoe Day (March 14) celebrates the country's founder, featuring a procession, cultural performances, and military parades in Maseru.
• Learn basic Sesotho phrases. Address elders or those in higher social positions as 'Ntate' (male) or 'Me' (female). Always respond to greetings, as ignoring someone is considered offensive. Exhibit patience and remain calm, as showing frustration is considered disrespectful. When exchanging items, use both hands. Be respectful of food (do not litter or eat while walking).
