Lithuania is a Baltic state in northeast Europe, covering about 65,300 sq km. It is bordered by Latvia, Belarus, Poland, the Baltic Sea, and Kaliningrad. Since regaining independence in 1990, Lithuania has maintained its status as one of the three Baltic states. As of 2025, the population was estimated at 2.9 million.
