• When visiting during Ramadan, expect limited daytime public activity and food/drink availability in major areas.
• Expect crowds and activity in the medina and on the streets during the evening (iftar).
• Plan travel for specific public holidays, such as Independence Day (March 20th), as accommodation may book up quickly.
• As a Muslim-majority country, dress respectfully. Modest dress is recommended, especially outside beach areas and hotel complexes, as standards become more conservative when traveling further south. Christian and Jewish minorities are present but are not permitted to proselytize to Muslims.
