• Traveling during any significant holiday period can cause severe congestion in public transport and limited availability of local services.
• Some historical or religious topics, such as the Vietnam War or border disputes, should be approached with sensitivity.
• Accommodation and transport around major holidays may sell out quickly; booking well in advance is recommended for specific locations like beach areas or Da Lat.
• Show respect and deference, especially to elders. In public, avoid displaying affection (PDA). Dress modestly and conservatively (covering shoulders and knees) to show respect, particularly when visiting temples. Be aware that losing face is important; avoid pointing out others' mistakes. When exchanging business cards, use both hands. Do not discuss political tensions related to China or the South China Sea.
