Note the regional difference in gestures: a nod typically signals 'No,' and a head shake means 'Yes.' As a conservative country, travelers should be discreet regarding LGBT+ issues. Bulgarians are also proud that the Bulgarian language was the first Slavic language to adopt the Cyrillic alphabet.
