• Dining is often communal and family-style, using shared serving dishes. When serving food, use your own chopsticks, avoiding direct contact from your personal set. Wait for the most senior person to start eating. Avoid pointing with chopsticks, touching food with fingers, or sticking chopsticks upright in a bowl. Spoons are recommended for soups and porridges.
