• Show respect when discussing religious topics and avoid proselytization.
• Avoid discussing sensitive historical or political issues.
• Obtain explicit permission before photographing people.
• Smile, as a lack of one may be interpreted as rude.
• Offer a mix of positive and negative comments when providing feedback.
• Use the common Islamic greeting, "es-salāmu-`alēku." Dress conservatively, ensuring shoulders and knees are covered. Remove shoes before entering mosques, and refrain from public displays of affection.
