• Singapore is known for its blending of Western and local traditions during holidays.
• Crowds are expected, particularly during major sales periods.
• For Christmas, shops and restaurants generally remain open, celebrating a mix of Western and local traditions.
• When dining, use chopsticks for Chinese meals, but Western cutlery is provided elsewhere. Avoid sticking chopsticks vertically in rice. For tea, a thank you can be indicated by tapping two or three fingers on the table. Generally, casual attire is suitable, although formal wear may be seen in upscale venues.
