📣 Conseils aux voyageurs

Mexico is a destination with rich cuisine, art, archaeology, and diverse landscapes, including mountains, jungles, and deserts. Key interests include pyramids, museums, haciendas, and its 9,600 km coastline. The country has experienced significant 21st-century economic and infrastructure growth.

  • Government offices nationwide close on official holidays and election days.
  • Paid leave and school closures are typically limited to statutory holidays.
  • Be aware that non-working days may sometimes shift to the Monday preceding the official holiday.
  • Be patient, as a relaxed sense of time is common. Use 'usted' (formal) when addressing people unless invited to use 'tú' (informal). When entering churches, remove sunglasses and hats; covering knees and waists is recommended. Saying '¡salud!' when someone sneezes is customary.

À propos de ce jour férié

Mexico classifies public holidays into three types: Statutory (national day off with paid leave and closed schools); Civic (national observance, but paid leave and school closures are not guaranteed); and Festivities (traditional holidays for religious or public celebrations).
