📣 Conseils aux voyageurs

Paraguay is a central South American country with vast wilderness and a blend of European and indigenous culture. While not known for major tourist attractions, visitors can explore colonial history, mission ruins, and natural scenery.

  • Areté Guazú: An indigenous celebration held in February or March.
  • Expo Rodeo Trébol: A large rodeo and exhibition event in mid-August.
  • Transchaco rally: A major sporting event in the Central Chaco Region in late September.
  • Be understanding of flexible punctuality; slight delays for appointments are common. Remain patient and calm in public settings. Show genuine interest in local customs and culture. When invited to a home, accepting and complimenting any offered food is polite. Avoid discussing country politics or criticizing the government. Use a handshake when meeting men, and a kiss on each cheek for men/women or two women.
