📣 Conseils aux voyageurs
Paraguay is a small South American nation known for its vast rivers, green landscapes, and blend of indigenous and colonial cultures. Due to limited tourism infrastructure, visitors experience the country's wilderness, mission ruins, and cultural history.
- Areté Guazú (Big Festival): Three-day indigenous celebration held between February and March in various locations.
- Expo Rodeo Trébol: Major rodeo expo in the Chaco, typically held mid-August.
- Transchaco rally: Major sports event in the Central Chaco Region, usually held late September.
- When greeting people, men traditionally shake hands; men/women or two women typically exchange handshakes and cheek kisses. Punctuality is appreciated, but delays should be expected. When asked about your well-being, respond cheerfully. Show genuine interest in the culture and history, and refrain from criticizing the government or politicians.
