• Expo Rodeo Trébol: Major rodeo and expo in the Chaco (mid-August).
• Transchaco rally: Sporting event in the Central Chaco (late September).
• Show interest in Paraguayan culture and history. Be respectful of local customs, such as complimenting food when offered. Accept a relaxed approach to time (delays are common). Use a handshake for men and cheek kisses for women or mixed genders. When asked '¿todo bien?', respond with 'sí, todo bien y vos?'. Avoid criticizing the government or discussing the Stroessner dictatorship without extreme sensitivity.
