  • Be mindful that local opinions on historical or political figures can be varied.
  • Standard handshakes are used for greetings. When entering homes, remove your shoes. Physical greetings, such as cheek kisses, are common. Courtesy includes allowing women to pass first and yielding seats to the elderly or pregnant.
