📣 Conseils aux voyageurs

Located in the eastern Alps near the Adriatic Sea, Slovenia is a centrally located European nation. It features diverse terrain, ranging from Mediterranean beaches to the peaks of the Julian Alps, and is known for its scenic beauty and economic development.

  • While English is widely spoken, using local greetings like 'Dober dan' (Good day) is encouraged.
  • The Slovenian Alps, especially Triglav, hold strong national significance.
  • Visitors should be prepared for attentive hospitality; locals may reiterate offers even after a polite refusal.
  • Slovenians are generally friendly. Learning and using basic Slovenian phrases is appreciated. When visiting homes, always remove your shoes. If invited to dinner, it is customary to bring a bottle of good wine and compliment the meal.
