About this holiday
The Saint Bartholomew's Day incident (1572) was a targeted wave of Catholic mob violence and assassinations against Huguenots during the French Wars of Religion. It began shortly after the marriage of Margaret (sister of King Charles IX) to Protestant King Henry III of Navarre.
