• Most meals are eaten using chopsticks. Key dining manners include never sticking chopsticks upright in rice, avoiding passing food from one's chopsticks to another person's, and not pointing with them. To get staff attention, use 'sumimasen' (excuse me). Tipping is not expected, though service charges may apply.
