• During Ramadan, many restaurants close for lunch and the pace of life slows down.
• Respect local customs by refraining from eating or drinking in public during Ramadan.
• Alcohol is available for tourists in specific venues and supermarkets (with a passport), but consumption is restricted for locals during the holy month.
• Eid al-Fitr follows Ramadan; expect many businesses to close for about a week as people travel home.
• Public transportation may be very crowded during the Eid holiday period.
• Dress modestly in public areas, while swimwear is acceptable at hotels and beach clubs.
