📣 Traveler notes
Paraguay offers visitors experiences in colonial history, mission ruins, and vast wilderness, characterized by rivers and a blend of European and indigenous cultures.
- Areté Guazú festival: A three-day indigenous celebration held between February and March in various locations.
- Expo Rodeo Trébol: The largest rodeo and expo, typically held mid-August in Loma Plata.
- Transchaco rally: A major sports event in the Central Chaco Region toward the end of September.
- Punctuality is often flexible; expect minor delays. Greetings usually involve a handshake between men, or kisses on each cheek among mixed genders or two women. It is advisable to show genuine interest in the local culture. Discussions regarding the government or political history, particularly the Stroessner regime, require sensitivity and caution.
About this holiday
