• International Mother Language Day (February 21): Commemorates the struggle for the Bengali language, recognized by UNESCO.
• Independence Day (March 26): Marks the declaration of Bangladesh's independence in 1971.
• Victory Day (December 16): Commemorates the surrender of Pakistani forces during the 1971 Liberation War.
• Use the right hand for greetings, exchanging gifts, and handing objects, as the left hand is considered unclean. Always respect local traditions and dress appropriately in places of worship. Due to the predominantly Muslim culture, physical contact when greeting local women should be approached with respect.
