• It is customary to remove shoes when entering private residences.
• Follow established queueing procedures and always obtain a numbered queue slip.
• Approach social interactions with questions to foster consensus-building conversations.
• Expect high levels of public acceptance regarding same-sex relationships and gender equality.
• Recognize that many service employees prioritize customer privacy and may be less overtly attentive than in other countries.
• Most homes require removing outdoor shoes. Punctuality is strictly observed; arriving late (unless specified) or excessively early is considered rude. While public displays of affection are accepted, greeting habits vary; hugging is common among friends, and cheek-kissing is not traditional.
